Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex policy proposals aligned with state strategic priorities
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using government data sources
- Collaborate with legislative and agency stakeholders to implement policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior leadership
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting New York
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging policy issues
- Evaluate program effectiveness using performance metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Stata)
- Demonstrated success in drafting policy briefs and legislative testimony
- Deep understanding of New York State government operations
- Strong project management skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Active security clearance preferred
