Responsibilities
- Analyze complex legislative proposals and regulatory impacts for state agencies
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with NC strategic goals
- Coordinate interdepartmental initiatives across 20+ state agencies
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and executive summaries for leadership
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced analytics tools
- Testify before legislative committees on policy implementation
- Mentor junior analysts and lead cross-functional task forces
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in government policy analysis or legislative affairs
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SAS)
- Deep knowledge of North Carolina state government operations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Professional certification in public policy (preferred)
