Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy data and draft actionable recommendations for legislative initiatives
- Conduct stakeholder outreach with community leaders, nonprofits, and state legislators
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on urban development projects
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and impact assessments for executive leadership
- Monitor legislative changes and evaluate compliance with state regulations
- Manage research budgets and coordinate with external vendors for data collection
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise policy research workflows
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency with statistical software (SPSS, R) and GIS mapping tools
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation and policy implementation
- Strong knowledge of Minnesota state governance structures
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
- Valid Minnesota driver's license (required for field visits)
