Responsibilities
- Analyze complex health data and legislation to draft actionable policy recommendations
- Coordinate with legislators, agency directors, and community stakeholders
- Develop implementation plans for new public health regulations
- Prepare legislative testimony and agency reports for state officials
- Monitor federal health policy trends and assess impacts on Texas
- Mentor junior analysts and lead interdepartmental task forces
- Evaluate policy effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years experience in government policy analysis or public health
- Advanced proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Deep knowledge of Texas legislative process and health regulations
- Proven track record of drafting successful legislation or regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
