Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues to develop actionable recommendations for state leadership
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, impact assessments, and implementation roadmaps
- Collaborate with agency directors and legislative stakeholders to align policy objectives
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting Illinois' policy landscape
- Lead cross-functional task forces addressing public service challenges
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, SPSS, Stata)
- Demonstrated success in developing evidence-based policy recommendations
- Strong understanding of Illinois state government operations and budget processes
- Superior written/verbal communication skills with executive-level experience
- Active Illinois government security clearance
