Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks to inform policy recommendations
- Lead cross-functional task forces addressing economic development challenges
- Prepare high-impact reports and presentations for legislative stakeholders
- Collaborate with local government partners on regional implementation strategies
- Monitor budget allocations and fiscal impacts of proposed policies
- Represent the department at public hearings and community forums
- Mentor junior analysts on research methodologies and government processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis and statistical modeling
- Proven track record of successful policy advocacy and implementation
- Deep knowledge of Washington State government operations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in high-pressure environments
