Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive epidemiological studies to identify emerging health trends
- Analyze complex datasets to inform public health policy recommendations
- Coordinate inter-agency initiatives for pandemic response and chronic disease prevention
- Develop evidence-based health education materials for diverse populations
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for public health service delivery
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Present findings to legislative committees and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health analysis experience
- Advanced proficiency in SAS/R and SPSS statistical software
- Valid Texas Public Health certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience with EHR systems and health data standards (HL7/FHIR)
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and program evaluation
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with bilingual Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA and public health confidentiality laws
