Responsibilities
- Lead epidemiological investigations and disease surveillance for Long Beach region
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health intervention programs
- Analyze complex health data sets using SAS/SPSS/R for policy recommendations
- Coordinate with community stakeholders and healthcare providers
- Prepare comprehensive grant proposals and budget reports
- Mentor junior staff and train public health volunteers
- Represent the department in interagency emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health experience
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS/SPSS/R)
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and budget management
- Valid California Driver's License
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Experience with community health assessments
