Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive health needs assessments across NYC's diverse neighborhoods
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging public health threats and trends
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for the County Executive and Health Commissioner
- Lead inter-agency task forces on chronic disease prevention initiatives
- Manage community health improvement grants and compliance reporting
- Train frontline healthcare workers on public health emergency protocols
- Represent the department in public health coalitions and stakeholder forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience in municipal/government setting
- Advanced proficiency in SPSS, R, or SAS for statistical analysis
- Proven track record developing health equity policy frameworks
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent credential
- Experience managing federal/state health grant programs
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data for diverse audiences
- Knowledge of NYC's public health landscape and community resources
