Responsibilities
- Conduct complex epidemiological research and data analysis to identify public health trends and emerging threats
- Develop evidence-based recommendations for county health policies and intervention programs
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Lead community outreach efforts to educate residents on public health resources and services
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for county commissioners and public stakeholders
- Manage grant-funded projects focused on maternal health and immunization programs
- Maintain compliance with state and federal public health reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health analysis or epidemiology
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping tools
- Valid Texas Public Health Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience with grant writing and federal program compliance
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong knowledge of CDC guidelines and Healthy People 2030 objectives
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable policy recommendations
