Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and recommend targeted interventions
- Develop and implement public health programs focused on chronic disease prevention
- Collaborate with state agencies on grant-funded initiatives totaling $1M+
- Lead community outreach campaigns through partnerships with schools and healthcare providers
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and state health department
- Manage departmental databases and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Mentor junior analysts on public health methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government or municipal public health
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Experience with CDC grant applications and reporting
- Strong written communication skills for policy development
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Knowledge of Virginia public health regulations
