Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify disease trends and public health threats
- Develop evidence-based intervention strategies for vulnerable populations
- Collaborate with community organizations on health equity initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county leadership and state agencies
- Oversee grant-funded public health programs and ensure compliance
- Train staff on public health protocols and emergency response procedures
- Represent the department in community outreach and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health data analysis
- Valid California Public Health Nurse or Registered Nurse license (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and program evaluation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse community groups
