Responsibilities
- Lead incident command operations during public health emergencies including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism threats
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols in coordination with local, state, and federal agencies
- Manage community outreach initiatives ensuring equitable access to emergency services across all Houston neighborhoods
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation
- Train and supervise emergency response personnel and volunteer coordination teams
- Prepare comprehensive emergency management plans and after-action reports
- Secure and manage emergency response budgets and resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (FEMA 300/400 level)
- Proven track record in leading multi-agency emergency operations
- Expertise in epidemiological data analysis and emergency resource allocation
- Strong communication skills with experience in community engagement
- Ability to work under extreme pressure with minimal supervision
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
