Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate public health policies aligned with CDC guidelines and Healthy People 2030 objectives
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health disparities and recommend intervention strategies
- Secure and manage federal/state grants totaling $500K+ annually for health initiatives
- Coordinate with community stakeholders to implement evidence-based wellness programs
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefings for City Council and department leadership
- Monitor legislative changes affecting public health systems in Louisiana
- Lead interdepartmental task forces on emergency preparedness and chronic disease prevention
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government/public health policy analysis
- Advanced proficiency in SPSS/R for statistical analysis of health data
- Proven grant writing success with federal agencies (HRSA, CDC)
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana's public health code and Title XIX regulations
- Experience leading community health assessment projects
- Strong policy writing skills with published reports in peer-reviewed journals
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
