Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based public health policies addressing health equity, infectious disease prevention, and chronic disease management
- Analyze complex health data, legislative trends, and socioeconomic factors to inform strategic recommendations
- Coordinate with legislative stakeholders, community organizations, and federal agencies for policy implementation
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions and public forums to gather community input on health initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative analyses, and testimony for public hearings
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend data-driven adjustments
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee quality control of all policy deliverables
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in health policy analysis, government, or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methods and health data analysis tools
- Proven track record developing and implementing successful public health initiatives
- Deep understanding of California's legislative process and health equity frameworks
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and community coalition building
