Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health policies aligned with California Health & Safety Code
- Analyze complex health data to identify equity gaps and recommend policy interventions
- Collaborate with state legislators, community stakeholders, and federal agencies
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives on pandemic preparedness and response
- Prepare legislative analyses, budget justifications, and implementation frameworks
- Supervise junior analysts and manage policy research projects
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit setting
- Expertise in health equity frameworks and quantitative data analysis
- Proficiency with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata) and GIS mapping
- Experience developing legislation and navigating California's regulatory processes
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of California Health & Safety Code and Medi-Cal systems
