Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based public health policies aligned with CDC guidelines and Colorado state mandates
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives addressing health equity, pandemic preparedness, and chronic disease prevention
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend targeted interventions
- Collaborate with community stakeholders, healthcare providers, and legislative bodies to implement health programs
- Manage $2M+ in public health grants ensuring compliance and measurable outcomes
- Prepare policy briefings and presentations for county commissioners and public hearings
- Oversee emergency response protocols during public health crises
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in government/public health policy development
- Expertise in health data analysis using tools like SAS, R, or Tableau
- Proven track record of implementing successful community health initiatives
- Deep knowledge of Colorado Revised Statutes Title 25 (Health & Environment)
- Ability to secure and manage federal/state health grants
- Valid Colorado driver's license and ability to travel county-wide
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) required
