Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public health strategies aligned with city and state health priorities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health risks and inform intervention programs
- Coordinate cross-sector partnerships to deliver health education and outreach initiatives
- Lead crisis response efforts for public health emergencies including disease outbreaks
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Train and supervise public health staff and community health workers
- Prepare detailed reports for city council and state health department presentations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of public health experience in government or non-profit settings
- Valid New Mexico Public Health Practitioner certification
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated experience managing federal grant-funded projects
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and public health confidentiality regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with bilingual proficiency preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for community events
