Responsibilities
- Analyze complex legislative proposals and regulatory impacts for state agencies
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with California's strategic goals
- Conduct stakeholder outreach and facilitate interdepartmental collaboration
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for decision-makers
- Monitor implementation of existing policies and recommend improvements
- Lead cross-functional projects addressing housing, climate, or equity initiatives
- Maintain compliance with state administrative procedures and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislative proposals and impact analyses
- Knowledge of California's legislative process and administrative regulations
- Strong written communication skills for complex policy documents
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
