Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy impacts on San Jose's tech sector and underserved communities
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with state priorities
- Lead stakeholder engagement with city officials, tech leaders, and community organizations
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using advanced data analytics tools
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs for legislative committees and executive leadership
- Manage cross-functional projects with 15+ agency stakeholders
- Monitor emerging trends in urban governance and technology ethics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven track record in stakeholder management and public outreach
- Deep understanding of California's legislative processes and regulations
- Experience with equity impact assessments and community-centered design
- Strong writing skills with published policy documents or research papers
- Valid California driver's license for occasional field visits
