Responsibilities
- Manage emergency dispatch operations for police, fire, and medical incidents
- Maintain real-time communication with field units during emergencies
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment per protocol
- Document incident reports with precise detail and accuracy
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during disasters
- Provide crisis intervention to callers in distress
- Train junior dispatch staff on department procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of public safety dispatch experience
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Experience with CAD systems like VisionAIR or Intergraph
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress situations
- US citizenship and CA driver's license required
