Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes, blueprints, and safety regulations
- Review engineering plans and provide technical guidance to contractors
- Document project progress through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works infrastructure
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and utility companies
- Prepare cost estimates and change orders for project modifications
- Maintain accurate inspection records and project documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience in civil engineering or public works
- Valid California Inspector Certification (ICBO or ICC)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and OSHA regulations
- Ability to read complex engineering blueprints
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
