Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FDOT, OSHA, City codes)
- Review construction plans and specifications for accuracy and feasibility
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed technical reports
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve compliance issues and project delays
- Train junior inspectors on proper protocols and documentation procedures
- Represent the city in project meetings with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience with government projects
- Valid Florida Inspector Certification (FDOT/OSHA preferred)
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology (Bachelor's preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Cityworks, GIS systems)
