Responsibilities
- Inspect construction projects for compliance with city codes, plans, and specifications
- Review engineering drawings and permit applications for accuracy
- Conduct field investigations and document findings in detailed reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Issue notices of violation and ensure corrective actions
- Test construction materials and verify quality standards
- Prepare technical reports and maintain inspection records
Qualifications
- 5+ years of public works inspection experience
- Valid California Civil Engineer (CE) or Land Surveyor (LS) license
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and inspection software
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and climb ladders
- Valid California Class C driver's license
