Responsibilities
- Execute complex excavation, grading, and paving operations for municipal infrastructure projects
- Install and maintain traffic control systems ensuring public safety during construction
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, and asphalt pavers with precision
- Perform concrete work including form setup, pouring, finishing, and curing
- Conduct daily site inspections and equipment maintenance to exceed safety standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure blueprints
- Maintain detailed project documentation and resource utilization logs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of verifiable public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid California Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
- Certification in OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety mandatory
- Proficiency with GPS survey equipment and construction software
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Experience with underground utility installation and repair
- Proven track record of maintaining zero-incident safety records
