Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, rollers) for public infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and concrete work
- Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain OSHA compliance standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications and timelines
- Manage material inventory and equipment maintenance schedules
- Implement erosion control and environmental protection protocols
- Train junior laborers on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (CAT, Komatsu, etc.)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (110°F+ summers)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
