Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including excavation, grading, and concrete pouring
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, bulldozers, asphalt pavers) with precision
- Install/maintain underground utilities and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
- Perform preventative maintenance on municipal equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects
- Document work progress and material usage daily
Qualifications
- 3+ years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class A CDL license with tanker endorsement
- Certification in OSHA 10/30 Construction Safety
- Proficiency with surveying tools and blueprints
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
- Union membership preferred (Local 50)
- Wastewater treatment plant experience a plus
