Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robust, secure web applications and APIs using Java, Python, or .NET.
- Lead architecture discussions and drive technical decisions for large-scale government projects.
- Ensure all software solutions comply with state security standards and federal regulations (FISMA).
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain high code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and policy experts.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments.
- Write clear technical documentation to support system maintenance and future upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#, or Python).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be willing to undergo a background investigation and security clearance process.
