Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of local server hardware and operating systems.
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive city data from cyber threats.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for network infrastructure and end-user systems.
- Lead the planning and execution of system migration projects to cloud-based environments.
- Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring minimal downtime for critical city services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve IT policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly preferred.
- Understanding of government IT compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
