Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the county’s Windows Server and Linux environments to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and data encryption to meet federal compliance standards.
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure solutions to support remote and on-site government operations.
- Provide advanced technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to anticipate future needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and streamline operational workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government, healthcare, or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting, Active Directory management, and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (or equivalent background check).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
