Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical government applications.
- Implement and oversee security protocols to meet federal and state compliance standards (FISMA, HIPAA).
- Lead the migration of on-premise systems to secure cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to mitigate security risks.
- Document technical procedures and train junior staff on best practices for government IT operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or AWS Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes government environment.
