Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and infrastructure to support city operations.
- Conduct system analysis and root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve high-impact technical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and project scope.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity across all platforms in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Lead technical documentation efforts and provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and staff.
- Perform regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize efficiency and uptime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems engineering or IT support within a government or large-scale enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security best practices, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Public Records Act (PRA) clearance and pass a background investigation.
