Responsibilities
- Lead design and engineering reviews for state highway expansion projects
- Oversee traffic impact studies and congestion mitigation strategies
- Manage environmental compliance documentation (NEPA, TCEQ)
- Coordinate with local governments on infrastructure integration
- Develop cost estimates and project timelines for $50M+ initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical specifications
- Present project updates to executive leadership and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- 8+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in TxDOT design standards and federal highway regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and traffic simulation software
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of Houston-area transportation networks and challenges
