Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway/bridge construction projects in Sedgwick County
- Conduct traffic analysis and safety assessments for state highways
- Manage project budgets exceeding $5M with strict compliance protocols
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies and private contractors
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS for infrastructure modeling
- Prepare engineering reports and regulatory documentation
- Mentor junior engineers on state-specific standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program
- Kansas PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 5+ years of transportation project experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
- Familiarity with KDOT design standards and MUTCD
- Strong project management and budgeting skills
- Experience with FHWA-funded projects preferred
- Valid Kansas driver's license
