Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for Mecklenburg County
- Analyze traffic patterns and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Coordinate with local governments and stakeholders on project alignment
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and grant applications
- Lead public outreach initiatives and community engagement sessions
- Maintain compliance with federal/state transportation regulations
- Mentor junior planning staff and manage project timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of transportation planning experience in public sector
- Professional certification (AICP, PTOE) preferred
- Proficiency in GIS software and transportation modeling tools
- Demonstrated project management experience with complex initiatives
- Strong analytical skills and data interpretation abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
