Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans for urban and rural areas
- Analyze traffic patterns and infrastructure capacity using GIS and modeling tools
- Coordinate with local government agencies and community stakeholders
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance documents
- Manage multimodal transportation projects including bike lanes and public transit
- Present findings to legislative committees and public forums
- Mentor junior planners and oversee project budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of transportation planning experience with state/federal agencies
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) or AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, VISSIM)
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA compliance processes
- Strong data analysis and policy writing abilities
- Valid Texas driver's license
