Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of highway construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Analyze traffic data and prepare engineering reports for infrastructure improvements
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed transportation plans and design documents
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and local government agencies
- Conduct site surveys and prepare preliminary engineering reports
- Assist in project budgeting and scheduling activities
- Review and approve construction materials and methodologies
- Prepare permit applications for right-of-way encroachments
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 3+ years of transportation engineering or construction inspection experience
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Technician Certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation software
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Knowledge of MUTCD standards and TxDOT specifications
- Ability to interpret engineering plans and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
