Responsibilities
- Lead complex land use reviews and zoning amendments for major development projects
- Conduct comprehensive urban design analyses and environmental impact assessments
- Collaborate with community boards, elected officials, and stakeholder groups
- Develop long-range planning strategies for resilient urban infrastructure
- Prepare and present technical reports to the City Planning Commission
- Mentor junior planners and supervise project teams
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform planning decisions
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Expertise in NYC Zoning Resolution and Uniform Land Use Review Procedure
- Strong GIS mapping and spatial analysis skills
- Proven ability to facilitate public meetings and community engagement
- NYS Professional Planner license (AICP certification preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
