Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with Minneapolis 2040 vision
- Analyze zoning regulations and recommend policy reforms to promote equitable growth
- Lead community engagement initiatives for major infrastructure projects
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and compliance reports
- Coordinate with state agencies on transportation and housing initiatives
- Manage planning budgets and project timelines
- Mentor junior planning staff through complex development reviews
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and urban modeling tools
- Expert knowledge of Minnesota land use statutes and building codes
- Proven track record in community outreach and stakeholder management
- LEED AP or AICP certification preferred
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
