Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive general plans for urban revitalization projects
- Analyze zoning regulations and environmental impact reports for compliance
- Lead community outreach initiatives and public hearings to gather stakeholder input
- Collaborate with engineering, transportation, and sustainability departments
- Prepare professional reports and presentations for City Council approval
- Manage project budgets and timelines for large-scale developments
- Ensure adherence to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- California AICP certification required
- Expertise in zoning codes, land use regulations, and CEQA compliance
- Strong GIS mapping and demographic analysis capabilities
- Proven success in leading complex community engagement processes
- Knowledge of California planning laws and regional sustainability initiatives
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
