Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Develop zoning code amendments and land use policies aligned with LA County's General Plan
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform urban growth strategies
- Facilitate community outreach sessions with stakeholders across 88 cities
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for Board of Supervisors approval
- Coordinate with transportation and housing departments for integrated planning
- Manage GIS mapping and spatial analysis for urban development projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive planning experience in municipal government
- California AICP certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and statistical analysis tools
- Expert knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) procedures
- Proven experience leading complex community engagement initiatives
- Valid California Class C driver's license
