Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive plan amendments and zoning code updates for major urban corridors
- Manage environmental review processes (SEPA) for large-scale development projects
- Facilitate community engagement sessions and stakeholder collaboration
- Analyze demographic, economic, and land use data to inform policy recommendations
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for City Council and public hearings
- Coordinate with state agencies on compliance with Growth Management Act
- Mentor junior planning staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of urban planning experience in municipal government
- SEPA/NEPA compliance certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS)
- Experience with community outreach and public speaking
- Knowledge of Washington State land use regulations
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
