Responsibilities
- Manage State Systems: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex state agency computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Security Compliance: Implement and monitor data security protocols to protect sensitive state data and ensure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations.
- User Support: Provide advanced technical support and training to state employees, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Project Management: Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including software upgrades and hardware installations, within budget and timeline constraints.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and incident reports, to ensure knowledge continuity.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors to manage service contracts and ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a related IT role within a government or enterprise environment.
- Licensure: Must possess valid credentials (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA) or be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), and cybersecurity best practices.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Reliability: Must pass a background check and drug screen as required by state employment standards.
