Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols for federal systems in compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Monitor network security using advanced SIEM tools and respond to potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal infrastructure
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate with federal agencies during security breaches
- Train federal staff on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness
- Collaborate with state/local partners on joint cybersecurity initiatives
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT security compliance
- CompTIA Security+ and CISSP certifications required
- Proficiency with AWS/Azure cloud security frameworks
- Experience with federal incident response protocols (NIST SP 800-61)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in remote settings
