Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the integrity of server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues remotely.
- Execute scheduled maintenance tasks, patch management, and security audits during weekend shifts.
- Ensure compliance with state security protocols, data privacy laws, and IT best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and user experience.
- Document all technical processes, incident reports, and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration, network support, or IT help desk roles.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment during off-hours (Saturday/Sunday).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
- Must be eligible for State of NC employment (background check required).
