Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting vacancies, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, regulations, and agency policies.
- Process employment verifications, background checks, and credentialing documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and records using the state HRIS system.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs and develop strategic talent acquisition plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably within a government or large corporate setting.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor standards, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
