Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers and workstations.
- Ensure data security and integrity across all departmental networks and systems.
- Provide exceptional technical support and user training to state employees.
- Perform routine system backups and conduct disaster recovery testing.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal departments on complex IT projects.
- Monitor system logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support or network administration.
- Valid Texas Driver's License (required for travel to field sites).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP protocols.
- Experience with Microsoft Server environments and Active Directory administration.
- Certification in CompTIA A+ or Network+ is highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain a State of Texas Public Trust background clearance.
