The Florida Department of State is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville. Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for state agencies located in Jacksonville.
- Manage and prioritize IT service tickets (Help Desk) during weekend hours to ensure minimal disruption to government operations.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups on servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- Ensure strict adherence to data security protocols and state compliance regulations during all technical interventions.
- Collaborate with the main IT support team during the week to resolve escalated issues and document weekend activities.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new devices and software for incoming staff.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support, help desk, or technical assistance roles.
- Proven ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) on a regular schedule.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
