Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Development: Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and software applications that support state agency operations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, managing the full software development lifecycle from conception to deployment using Agile methodologies.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to strict state and federal security standards, including HIPAA and cybersecurity protocols.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with government officials and department heads to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
- Technical Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for mission-critical government applications.
- Optimization: Analyze system performance and data workflows to drive efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems engineering, or IT project management within the public sector or a large enterprise.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Strong knowledge of SQL databases and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Certifications: PMP, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP certification is a strong plus.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and government officials.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain necessary government security clearances.
