Responsibilities
- Review and process unemployment insurance claims with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct eligibility interviews via telephone to verify claimant information and determine benefit entitlement.
- Research and analyze complex case files to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Document all case activities and communications within the state’s secure case management system.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior specialists while maintaining accurate ticket logs.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with claimants experiencing financial hardship.
- Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements for the night operations workflow.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, call center operations, or administrative support.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations simply.
- Ability to work a rotating night shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, with high attendance reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
